David Falconer documented the fuel shortage in the west during the 1970s, as well as water pollution in the area at the time. Falconer took photos from April 1973 to May 1974 mainly across the states of Oregon and Idaho. This 1973 aerial shot shows the Grand Coulee Dam, a concrete gravity dam on the Columbia River in Washington State. How did the 1973 energy crisis lead to new attention to hydroelectric power?
